About

A little recent history:  In May of 2011 I graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations with a minor in Psychology and a certificate from the Human Needs and Global Resources (HNGR) Program.  In 2010, I spent 6 formative months living and working in the Philippines with Samaritana Transformation Ministries, a non-profit Christian organization serving women leaving prostitution.  To read more about my journey in Manila, go here: http://www.hngr2010.com/interns/sarah-gossman/.  I returned forever changed, with a deepened love for abused women and seeking where that might lead me next; I hope to someday serve as a counselor for women leaving prostitution.  That first led me to a three month internship in the fall of 2011, serving as the Aftercare Intern for International Justice Mission at their HQ in Washington, D.C.

In February of 2012, I began a new chapter of my journey back in the Metro DC area.  I’m working as a “family assistant” for a wonderful family – providing child care for two little kiddos as well as serving in a personal assistant role.  I am eager to see the ways that God would want to stretch me, and the dreams He would want to reveal to me, during my time here.  And, although my address currently reads Virginia…Seattle, Chicago and Peru, South America will always be “home.”

This blog is a place for me to share all that He is teaching me along this journey, with some humorous anecdotes thrown in too, of course.  :]

Please feel free to contact me: sarah.gossman@my.wheaton.edu and don’t forget to subscribe to my blog and receive updates whenever I post – you can find the box for your email address in the upper right-hand corner of the home page.

Sidenote: I love drinking tea, climbing mountains, eating nutella, listening to (good) music, and wearing scarves. :]
